Early Life

Baburam Bhattarai was born in Gorkha, Nepal. He studied architecture and was known for his strong intellectual abilities from a young age.

Career

He became a key leader and ideologue of the Maoist movement, playing a central role in Nepal's civil war. Later, he served as the 35th Prime Minister of Nepal from August 2011 to March 2013.

Political Role

Mr. Bhattarai was very important in Nepal's change from a monarchy to a federal democratic republic. He is respected for his clear thinking and continues to be an active politician with the Nepal Socialist Party.
